Research interests include multicultural counseling, supervision of multicultural counseling, racial identity, feminist identity and career development. Her most recent book is entitled Gaining Cultural Competence in Career Counseling.
Dr. Evans teaches several Ed.S. courses including Introduction to Counseling, Techniques of
Counseling,
Career Development, Practicum and Internship.
For the doctoral program, she teaches Theory and Practice of Supervision, Supervision Practicum, and Advanced Counseling Practicum.

Research interests include examining the intersection of race, education, and
counseling psychology, investigating methods of creating effective, culturally sensitive
and relevant approaches to promote academic success in students of color from early childhood education to college, sexual health promotion during adolescence,
and promoting the psychological well-being of African American women.
