Research interests include multicultural counseling, supervision of multicultural counseling, racial identity, feminist identity and career development. Her most recent book is entitled Gaining Cultural Competence in Career Counseling.

Dr. Evans teaches several Ed.S. courses including Introduction to Counseling, Techniques of Counseling, Career Development, Practicum and Internship.

For the doctoral program, she teaches Theory and Practice of Supervision, Supervision Practicum, and Advanced Counseling Practicum.
