Introduction

It is now that time in your life where you have to find a job. Everybody can do a job. There are jobs that are just right for you and your skills. You just have to know where to look for them.  You may want to be a construction worker, a janitor, or be someone who serves food to other people. What job does the man in this picture do?


Task

You have already looked for jobs in the newspaper today. Now you will look for jobs on the World Wide Web. Your task is to first pick a type of job that you found in the newspaper that you want to do. Then you will look for that same job on the World Wide Web. If you did not find a particular job, you can go to the website of that company and look for information. Here is an example of what job ads look like in the newspaper.

Process

1) Write down the type of job that you want to do and have the teacher help you find someone who wants to do the same type job

2) Go to the websites and do a search for those jobs in groups of 2.

3) Find three jobs that are of the same type.

4) Write down the name of the company, who to contact, what the phone number is, and how much the job pays.

5) Get an application for that job.

South Carolina's Job Bank 1) Enter in a keyword search for the type job you wish to do 2) Enter in the zip code of where you live.

The State Newspaper Find jobs on the internet without using your newspaper. This will also help you find your job easier.

3) Find three jobs of the same type

For example: If you wanted to work in a fast food restaurant you would find information from Burger King, Taco Bell, and McDonalds.

Conclusion

Now that you have found three jobs you are well on your way to completing the next step. The next step will be filling out a job application. Before you know it you will have a job!
