DEADHEADS
In March 1995 I went with my son Joel who was 15 to Charlotte for what would be Jerry Garcia's last trip to the South (Nathan was also there but with friends not his father). I had spent a short period of time in the bay area -- specifically Bolinas -- in the early seventies but I would not consider myself a Deadhead. We arrived at 2 for the 8 P.M. concert and I spent my time shooting pictures of people who followed the Dead. Some of these photographs were published in the 1995 year-end tribute to Jerry in Relix. The editor of the magazine, Toni Brown, commented that the photographs portrayed the sweet side. I hope you agree.
